Counselling for Adults

Maybe you are seeking support because life feels especially difficult at the moment. Perhaps you feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or frustrated by finding yourself in the same patterns again and again. Sometimes there is a clear reason for coming to therapy. At other times, there is simply a sense that something is not quite right.

There are parts of ourselves that we hide from other people, and sometimes even from ourselves. Therapy can offer a place to approach those parts with curiosity rather than judgement, and begin to understand how our experiences, relationships and ways of coping have shaped us.

I work integratively, which means I draw from different therapeutic approaches and adapt the work to the individual rather than expecting everyone to fit one particular model. I bring genuine interest, thoughtful attention and a touch of humour when it feels right. I can gently challenge where helpful, while keeping the focus on what matters to you and moving at a pace that feels manageable.

What can we work with?

People come to counselling for many different reasons. These might include anxiety, low mood, grief and bereavement, trauma, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, identity, work pressures, neurodivergence, sexuality or gender identity, or major changes in life.

You may also want to understand yourself more deeply, even if there is no particular crisis.

I have extensive experience working with autistic and otherwise neurodivergent people, including those with ADHD and dyslexia. I have also worked therapeutically with survivors of sexual trauma, and understand that exploring difficult or traumatic experiences can feel daunting. This work is approached carefully, with attention to safety, trust and pace.

My approach

I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor with a Level 6 Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling, and I trained within the NHS.

My work is informed by psychodynamic, humanistic, relational and cognitive approaches. In practice, this might mean exploring how earlier experiences continue to affect you, paying attention to what is happening in your life and relationships now, or looking together at patterns of thinking and behaviour that may no longer be serving you.

The therapeutic relationship itself is an important part of the work. You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what you want to talk about or what you want therapy to achieve. We can work that out together.

Sessions

I offer counselling online and in person in South East London. 2 minutes from Woolwich Arsenal station, with free parking within 5 minutes walk. My space is wheelchair accessible.

Sessions can be short-term or open-ended, depending on what you are looking for.

If you are considering therapy, we can begin with a free 30-minute phone or online consultation. This gives you an opportunity to tell me a little about what is bringing you to counselling, ask any questions and get a sense of whether we might work well together.
